ARTHUR L. SPERLING, D.M.D,
has practiced oral and maxillofacial surgery since 1967. Having spent his undergraduate years as a physics major at Tufts University, he went on to graduate from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Sperling attended Harvard University where he completed his post-doctoral program in oral and maxillofacial surgery and his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Sperling served as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Sheppard Air Force Base before coming to Connecticut in 1969.
He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He is the section chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Middlesex Hospital. In addition, he maintains staff appointments at UConn/Dempsey Hospital, CT Children’s Medical Center and Hartford Hospital. He serves on the Maxillofacial Trauma Team at Hartford Hospital.
Dr. Sperling is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Connecticut State Dental Association and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
